The Lowy Institute will host a special address by the Leader of the Opposition.  

The Leader of the Opposition will speak on international affairs, Australia’s changing strategic circumstances and the Opposition’s foreign policy agenda. After his remarks, the Lowy Institute's Executive Director Dr Michael Fullilove AM will chair a Q&A session with Mr Dutton.  

The Hon Peter Dutton MP is the Leader of the Opposition. He has been the Member for Dickson since 2001. In 2006 John Howard appointed him Assistant Treasurer. He served as Minister for Health from 2013 to 2014, Minister for Immigration and Border Protection from 2014 to 2018, Minister for Home Affairs from 2017 to 2021and Minister for Defence from 2021 to 2022.  Prior to Parliament, Peter Dutton started a family business and served his community as a Police Officer.  ‍
