On the evening of Wednesday 19 June in Canberra we marked the Australian launch of the Lowy Institute Australia–Papua New Guinea Network Emerging Leaders Dialogue Outcomes Report 2023, First Nations Foreign Policy: Strengthening Australia–PNG Ties.

The evening featured a keynote address by Justin Mohamed, Australia’s inaugural Ambassador for First Nations People, and conversations with some of 2023’s emerging leaders, we explored how First Nations foreign policy can bring the two nations closer together.

The event was chaired by Mihai Sora, Aus–PNG Network Project Director and Jessica Collins, Research Fellow Pacific Islands Program at the Lowy Institute.
