Join our Lowy Institute experts as they review the culmination of a tumultuous US presidential election season. Our panellists will examine the beliefs and policies that animate both presidential contenders — Kamala Harris and Donald Trump — and their teams of advisers. They will also discuss the consequences of this election for Australia, Asia and the world.

Ryan Neelam will convene this conversation with colleagues Dr Michael Fullilove, Richard McGregor, and Susannah Patton, which will include questions from the audience.
 
Dr Michael Fullilove AM has served as Executive Director of the Lowy Institute since 2012. He has written on US politics and foreign policy for The New York Times, Foreign Affairs and The Atlantic. He is the author of Rendezvous with Destiny: How Franklin D. Roosevelt and Five Extraordinary Men Took America into the War and into the World (Penguin).
 
Richard McGregor is Senior Fellow for East Asia at the Lowy Institute, a former Beijing and Washington bureau chief for the Financial Times and the author of numerous books on East Asia.
 
Susannah Patton is Director of the Southeast Asia Program at the Lowy Institute and the Project Lead for the Asia Power Index. Her research focus is on Southeast Asia.
 
Ryan Neelam is Director of the Public Opinion and Foreign Policy Program at the Lowy Institute and is Project Lead on the annual flagship publication, the Lowy Institute Poll. Ryan spent 14 years as an Australian diplomat.
