Shivshankar Menon served as India’s National Security Adviser from 2010 to 2014. Before that, he held key diplomatic roles, including Foreign Secretary and Ambassador to several major capitals, such as Beijing and Islamabad. He is currently a Visiting Professor of International Relations at Ashoka University.

Sam Roggeveen is Director of the Lowy Institute’s International Security Program. He is the author of The Echidna Strategy: Australia’s Search for Power and Peace, published by La Trobe University Press in 2023.
